News Humour - Warner Brothers may have learnt a thing or two from the less-than-rapturous critical reaction to Zack Snyder’s humourless superhero showdown Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
According to BirthMoviesDeath, the studio is carrying out reshoots on David Ayers’s forthcoming DC adaptation Suicide Squad – in order to make the film lighter and funnier.

Website editor-in-chief Devin Faraci, who says that he has spoken to an “excellent” inside source, revealed today that the filmmakers made the decision to reshoot Suicide Squad after noting the positive public response to the film’s second trailer.
Set to the strains of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, it seemed to promise a movie that was exciting, colourful and darkly funny, playing up the black humour behind its central concept (a squad of incarcerated super villains are forced to take on government missions).

But apparently the trailer wasn’t an entirely accurate representation of the film. According to Faraci’s source: "Every joke in the movie is in that trailer”.

The BMD editor added that: “The enormous positive response to the trailer led to Warner Bros requesting reshoots that would alter the tone of the film, bringing in some more of the lightness to which audiences responded.”
His report also stated that the reshoots took place as recently as this week and cost “tens of millions of dollars”.
Suicide Squad, which features Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, is due in cinemas on August 5. source: www.telegraph.co.uk
